A busy month of July...

As you can see from the Events page, the artist participated in several shows and plein-air PAINT-OUTS in July. At right is one of Mark’s new paintings from the Alameda event, reflecting his tonal-colorist, Craftsman plein-air style, per his blog at: www.MarkMonsarrat.Wordpress.com.

“The Atmospheric Landscape” by Mark Monsarrat

The traditional oil landscape paintings by longtime plein air artist Mark Monsarrat are inspired by the Hudson River School, Early California, Craftsman (Arts & Crafts) and tonalist styles, including artists such as Bierstadt, Keith, Hill, Durand, Cole; California Impressionists Edgar Payne, William Wendt; and many others.

A professional artist for over twenty years, Mark continues to show in the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond, and as a recent MFA graduate from the Academy of Art University (with his earlier BFA from the California College of the Arts), Mark’s MFA portfolio is here presented, capturing the mystery, mood, and atmosphere of  trees, skies, mountains, water.

Your interest and feedback are welcome. Enjoy!
